Jorge de la Vega
Jorge de la Vega Góngora got a bachelor degree on Mathematics from the UNAM as well as a Master and PhD degree on Statistics from the University of Minnesota, USA. He has been working at Banco de México for near 33 years working in several core areas from the central bank. His most recent position has been Manager of Analysis of the Financial System, in the Directorate of Financial Stability. Previous positions include areas of Central Banking operations, Banknote planning and Issuing, among others.
He is the designer and coordinator of academic programs at the Museo Interactive of Economy (MIDE), where he has been coordinator of two diplomate degrees: Mathematics and Statistics and Introduction to Data Science.
In parallel, he has been teaching for more than 20 years at different institutions, including Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, el Instituto Autónomo de México (ITAM), el Colegio de México y el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). Courses include different topics in Applied Statistics.
